The Cable pattern is obtained with pairs of strokes in alternating directions that are very close together. This stretches the colours that look like the individual strands that make up a steel cable.
The Cable pattern does not seem to be very popular; I have only been able to find a few examples of it on the Internet.

Of course, you can make cables both horizontally and vertically and use Nonpareil as a base pattern.
Galen Berry even adds a Curl in the centre of each “square”, which looks something like this:
This pattern forms the basis for the American Cable. The palette is taken from a photograph of a cup of cappuccino.
