Icarus

The Icarus pattern is composed of a Nonpareil followed by a rake in the orthogonal direction.

If you first perform a rake parallel to the Nonpareil, Icarus becomes the Cathedral pattern.

If you make the rake lines wavy, Icarus turns into a kind of Serpentine:

This detail image shows how extreme the stretching of the colours is in the Icarus pattern. No matter how fine the resolution, at some point, the stripes become narrower than one pixel and blur together.
